  8. One interesting thing i learned was that wealthy people living in the ghetto payed for young boys to fill their spots working (for the Nazis).

Another thing was that in concentration camps, lice infested the prisoners sleeping bunks. And every month the prisoners had to get lice killer put on their heads. Supposedly it really hurt.

  9. Some Jewish children didn't look Jewish, so they could take off their patches and go outside the Ghetto. Usually no one would notice, and the Jew could gather bread and other goods, and could smuggle them in.

The Klu Klux Klan had members who were children. Their parents would dress them in the traditional white robe and they would go to rallies.

2I thought it was interesting how the Jews went onto the trains to the ghetto without a fight. I probably would have ran and got shot instead going to the concentration camp, depending on if i knew were i was going.

  12. 1) The four teens that I read about in the book In the Camps are not shy or quiet about their past experiences (surviving the Holocaust). In fact, they like to keep the memory alive by talking to various schools and giving speeches.
    2) A girl named Stella was given a tatoo when she arrived at the concentration camp. Her tatoo is still lies upon her arm. It has not faded at all. I am sure that many of the Jews still have their tatoos. It just shows you that for the Jews, you cannot get rid of the memory of the Holocaust.

  18. One interesting thing I learned was a young Polish Jewish boy named Herchel Glynszpan was tired of the mistreatment of Jews. He took a gun a shot a member of the German Embassy. This is what led Hitler to approving spontaneous actions against Jews.

Another interesting thing I learned was how the Germans got the idea of having a gas chamber and oven. They got this idea, because the Germans wanted a faster way to kill the Jews, and the most of the ways the Germans killed the Jews before led to no place to dispose the body. They thought of this idea for rapid killing and disposing of bodies.

  19. 1. Children that could pass as Aryans, would get fake identity cards that had a different place of date and place of birth, etc. The children had to memorize what was on their cards, so that if they were interrogated they would seem truthful.
    2. In Nazism people believed that if they didn't kill the Jews, they would kill them. It was completely irrational, but since the people were in such a state of fear they would believe anything.

  20. 1.The Swiss Red Cross demanded to come see Terezin (an awful work camp). The Nazis had lied, saying that it was a wonderful little town, just separated. The Nazis couldn't deny them, so the Nazis repainted the whole "town" added new buildings, parks, and town squares. They sent all the unhealthy looking people to Auschwitz. So they completely fooled the red cross.
2.The moldy bread that the Nazis brought to the prisoners was carried in the same cart as the dead bodies.
