  3. From Grandfather's Arm:
Is Grandfather no longer afraid to show his tattoo? Will he wear short sleeves now? How many people are in America with Tattoos.

    From Hidden Children:
Where in the States did these hidden children usually go? Did family members get to stay together (while hidden)? If they didn't come to America, where did they go? Did they ever share their stories with their children/grandchildren? Do they still know the people they hid with?

In the book they said that the German citizens didn't know what was happening to the Jews. How is this possible?

  12. How could the German officers not notice kids crawling over the wall of the Ghetto and bring in food?

  14. Chris, you're exactly right. Also, it's usually infectious.

  15. @Madison: I'm sure some of them didn't know the full extent of what was happening to the Jews. However, they probably at least knew they were "going away" to Concentration Camps. Perhaps they didn't know what happened at these camps.

    ReplyDelete
  16. @Annie: Maybe they just ignored it. After all, they were just kids.

    ReplyDelete
  17. @Annie: Maybe they wanted to let them get over there. Not all German's wanted to be killing Jewish people. Some of them purposely let the Jewish children bring food.

  18. Brantley-
Yes!they loved Hitler at first. He was charismatic and a good speaker. But as time progressed they were more brainwashed by Hitler. But they didn't like him in the end.

  19. Yes, Caroline, you are probably correct. The concentration camps were away from civilization, and it wasn't like people were hanging out there or anything.

  20. Didn't Boy in Striped Pajamas say Auschwitz was like in the middle of a field or a plain or something?

    ReplyDelete
  21. I meant when you were talking to Madison.

    ReplyDelete
  22. But yes it was in a field as apposed to in a town.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I know. I was agreeing with you! and just a bit curious... :)

    ReplyDelete
  24. Yes, but Ghettos could be considered concentration camps to an extent. Some Ghettos were extremely bad such as the Warsaw Ghetto. So one could say that there were some concentration camps the Germans had in their back yards.

    ReplyDelete
  25. True, but in Warsaw wasn't there a factory they could work at? if they were lucky? Besides, the Germans couldn't see over the walls! Unless they did some major climbing.

  26. In the Camps:

Does the author of this book have any connection to the teens that he describes in this book? Why did he choose these children in particular? What was his connection to the Holocaust in general?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yes, but in the factories it was still as bad as concentration camps and they got next to nothing in pay.

  28. Two questions I still have-

1.Why did people listen to Hitler?
